When to update your team

You've got yourself a Sports Bridge account, listed your team information and added a recruitment listing, so why would you want to update your team?

Your team profile is the first thing parents see when looking for a new team, keeping it up to date and relevant is really important.

Think about it, when you go to buy a car you look at the images online, check out the cars description, mileage all of that jazz, then imagine going to see it and it looked nothing like the ad you saw. Or what if you wanted to book a hotel online and when you got to your room you realize the photos listed on the booking site were 20 years old! You'd have a pretty bad taste in your mouth for those experiences, and they can be easily avoided by updating their listings. And that's exactly what you can do with your Sports Bridge profile.

Your teams profile isn't just a quick one and done situation, it's constantly evolving and growing just like you and your team. That should be celebrated, share your achievements with future players and parents!

Let's dive into some examples of when you should update your team.

Have you moved training grounds recently?

Have you just won a tournament?

Have you just signed up for a big tournament?

Has your team got a new kit, or training kit?

Have you posted some cool new instagram photos?

These are all things parents want to know about when looking at your team. It makes your profile more interesting and helps it stand out even more!

Parents often search more than once.

This means you should be updating your profile so there’s new things for parents to see on your profile, new photos, new achievements, you get the idea.

Your team is constantly improving!

Your profile page is your best chance to paint your team in the best light and make a great first impression, new accomplishments should be celebrated and what better way than showing them off to parents.

Unfortunately having great relationships isn’t enough to stop players and parents wanting to leave and find a new team. Parents are often wanting their children to compete at higher levels and continue improving. Communicate with your parents and let them know that you are proactive about improving your team to higher levels.

A large amount of parents are always on the look out for a new, better team for their child, so they don’t need to do so much research when it comes to recruiting season. Keeping your team profile up to date and active on Sports Bridge will keep you as a coach, and a team, fresh in parents minds.

Having a great team is awesome, but chances are something will come up (Covid we’re looking at you) and disrupt your perfect team. Keeping your Sports Bridge team profile up to date, proactively recruit all year so when something happens, you’re ready!
